SOBER (Brazil) and IAWA: possibilities of collaboration and partnership

Representatives of IAWA (International Association on Work in Agriculture) and SOBER (Brazilian Society of Rural Economics, Administration and Sociology) boards discussed the possibilities of collaboration and partnership between the two institutions, during a virtual meeting on May 6th.

SOBER IAWA MEETING

The meeting had the presence of SOBER’s and IAWA’s current and upcoming presidents, who presented the institution’s history, mission and objectives, subjects of interest and activities, among other aspects.
Although more directly related to subjects such as work, employment and labor, the broad perspective from which work in agriculture is taken by IAWA highlights connections with different themes at SOBER.
Under recent efforts to enhance international partnerships, both institutions emphasized convergent points of interest and the possibilities of collaboration and partnership. Among the potential actions, the group mentioned the promotion of joint activities to share research interests and activities; the participation in upcoming congresses, including the proposal of organized sessions and working groups; joint communication and publicization of each other’s activities through social media, website or direct mailing; and the potential formalization of partnership through a MoU. The participants emphasized the importance of communication and sharing research to promote their partnership.
